Just getting by each day as a leader may not reflect the focus on a set of values that will have a long term positive effect.  The values and behaviors you demonstrate as what you stand for are the example that everyone sees, and how they calculate their own actions and decisions by.   
 
The example we set as a leader needs to strongly emphasize expectations of excellence and be the set of values that will always lead to the best outcomes for the organization.  Knowing what the organization needs (as identified and measured in the previous session) is one thing, but the example and values you demonstrate consistently in all situations will be how you are recognized as a leader by those in your sphere of influence.
 
This step in the Leading Edge program puts you in close touch with the values of excellence and success and gives you an accurate measure of where you can make your plans to improve.

Session Three: Am I Leading?

World Class Leadership Self Assessment

 Benefits:

Establish the extent to which I am leading my company/department/project to World Class Standards.  Develop a personal leadership improvement plan.

Understanding what your company needs, as presented in the previous session is strongly related to the strategic priorities of your organization.  The World Class Leadership Self Assessment is about the extent to which you are a champion of excellence and the values you demonstrate as a leader in all situations and environments.

Am I champion for quality?

Do I demand value?

Do I promote teamwork?

 

Do I demonstrate a commitment to the customer?

 

Etc..

Session Three Rock Climbing will put together the fundamentals you have learned and have you climbing as the 'second' on a full pitch climb, where the leader leads and sets the anchor and you follow the route and take out the equipment. This scenario will be repeated to familiarize and train you in the full climbing cycle in preparation for multi-pitch climbs.
