Climbing as the Metaphor and a Behavioral Tool
Rock climbing has all of the elements of the success equation integrated into every climb including; preparation, commitment, confidence, control, perseverance and even celebration at the top. Developing courage, skills and self assurance through repeatedly challenging oneself develops ‘The Leading Edge’. The essential elements of personal power developed in climbing are intentionally built into The Leading Edge program to create a holistic effect on the enrollee.
Learning to climb has many additional benefits. As a life - long passion, you will visit the most beautiful locations and insert yourself into the magnificent scenery, rather than viewing it from afar. Each climbing adventure is a memorable experience unto itself - regardless of the difficulty level of the climb. By the end of The Leading Edge program, you’ll learn the skills to ‘lead climb’ – that is, to be the one who chooses the route, goes first on the rope, who finds the way, who technically manages the climb, and who others trust to get them to the top. Each individual will develop their climbing skills throughout the program and climb within the physical ability level they are capable of. An element of the ‘graduation’ process of The Leading Edge program is to select and lead a significant multi-pitch climbing ascent.
