Several times a year we offer open enrollment facilitator training. We employ many of the facilitators we train as staff at some of our larger team building and leadership programs and ropes courses.
Facilitation is an art and a science- and we emphasize both. With a heavy emphasis on experiential training and corporate applications we will teach you a series of exercises, approaches, skills, models and techniques to become a first class facilitator. The program lasts two full days and includes:
Theory and application of Experiential Learning Facilitation
Approach:This category summarizes how a subject or group may view the facilitator.The emphasis is on efficiency and professionalism, and demonstrated clarity of intention.
Skills: This category emphasizes the use of technical facilitation models and skills. Inclusion:This category acknowledges a facilitator’s efforts towards creating an atmosphere and environment of comfort and inclusion, in order to promote participation. Structure:This category refers to the facilitator’s ongoing efforts to retain the focus and concentration of the group and to stay on course.Structure emphasizesthe productivity and effectiveness of the group’s efforts. Presentation: This category refers to the areas where the facilitator is able to maintain the attention of the group, which is critical for any facilitator.
Organization:This category refers to the physical considerations of group facilitation.It is hard to be effective as a facilitator if the subjects are distracted by a cold room temperature, late start times, or lack of a bathroom.This category is not the main focus of facilitation, however disregard for these factors will make effective facilitation much more difficult. Participants will be evaluated according to a 60+ criteria, and compare peer evaluation with their own self-evaluation as part of the program. High scoring facilitators can be asked to be part of our staff.
